CarePath Privacy Notice

CarePath is a free educational app and website from PairaDoc Technologies LLC ("we," "us"). It helps people understand serious illness, ICU equipment, end-of-life options and related planning topics. CarePath is not a patient portal, does not provide medical care, and does not require an account. This notice explains what information is and is not handled when you use CarePath on the web or in the mobile app.

The short version

• No accounts, logins, payments or uploads.
• We do not collect your name, contact details, health information or worksheet answers through the app.
• Worksheet answers and saved PDFs stay on your device unless you choose to share them.
• CarePath does not use analytics, advertising, tracking cookies or data brokers, and we do not sell or share personal information.
• Like any website, the services that deliver CarePath receive basic technical information, such as your IP address, so the app can load. This is described below.

Information you type into CarePath

Planning worksheets. The optional Advance Care Planning worksheets let you type your wishes and other information. Your answers are handled only in the open page on your device to create a PDF. They are not sent to us or stored on our servers. They disappear when you leave or refresh the page unless you have saved a PDF.

Search boxes. Searches for ICU equipment or states run on your device and are not sent to us.

Saving and sharing PDFs. When you use Save PDF, Share or Share My Wishes, the file is created on your device and passed to your device's own save or share options (for example Files, Mail, Messages, AirDrop or Print). CarePath does not receive the file or the people you share it with. The apps and services you choose to use handle the file under their own policies.

Feedback and emails to us

The feedback page prepares a message in your own email app; CarePath does not upload or save what you type in the form. If you choose to send an email to support@pairadoc.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include so that we can review your suggestion or reply. Support messages are handled in our email system, separately from CarePath worksheets. You can request deletion of an email you sent us by contacting support. Please do not include a patient's name, diagnosis, medical records or other sensitive health information in an email.

Technical information needed to deliver CarePath

When your device loads CarePath, some technical information is automatically sent to the services that deliver it. We do not use this information to identify you, build profiles, or track you across sites.

• Hosting. CarePath is hosted by Floot, which uses cloud infrastructure from providers such as Amazon Web Services. These services process technical information needed to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. According to Floot's privacy policy, its standard published-app backend and content-delivery logs exclude visitors' IP addresses. Security systems may record an IP address and request details when a request is flagged or blocked for abuse. Floot states that published-app backend logs are retained for 90 days and CDN, firewall, and file-access logs for 30 days. We do not use this information to identify or profile visitors. • Fonts. CarePath's text fonts are delivered by Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the fonts from Google, which receives your IP address and browser information. See Google's privacy policy.
• No analytics. CarePath's built-in visitor analytics are turned off, and we have not added any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
• No cookies or device storage. CarePath does not set cookies or save information in your browser's storage.

Links to other websites

CarePath links to government agencies, nonprofit organizations and other sources for official forms and further reading. When you open a link, you leave CarePath, and that website's own privacy policy applies.

Children

CarePath is intended for adults and families. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Because CarePath does not keep accounts or store information you enter in the app, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you have emailed us and would like that email deleted, or if you have any privacy question or request, contact support@pairadoc.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; we will honor applicable requests.

Security

CarePath is served over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, which is one reason CarePath is designed not to collect your health information in the first place.

Changes to this notice

If how CarePath handles information changes, we will update this notice and the "last updated" date above before the change takes effect.
